Federica is an architect and urban planner, and Vice Chair at Architects Without Borders Italy (ASF Italia).
Federica has a long professional experience in architectural design and construction, particularly in rehabilitation of existing buildings and conservation of built heritage, both in the private and public sectors.
From 1998 to 2008 she worked as an adjunct professor at Politecnico di Milano.
She joined ASFItalia in 2012 and over the past 10 years she has led international cooperation projects in Africa for ASFItalia and other institutions, facilitating processes of equitable and sustainable development.
The experience gained in African development projects has equipped her with expertise in participatory design processes based on principles of inclusion and social empowerment.
Her work is also focused on the investigation and spreading of appropriate and appropriable building technologies.
