ASF-ID is a network of architects, academics, and professionals committed to facilitating grassroots communities needing architectural planning support, using science and technology to address various issues in the built environment and spatial practice. We act as a facilitator for vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalized groups in the development and research sectors, thus encouraging communities to become empowered and aware of spatial justice, local potential and environmental sustainability.
Our vision is to utilize architecture as a tool for social empowerment and sustainable development in Indonesia, supporting multidisciplinary expertise (Urbanist, Architect, and other disciplines). We aim to drive actual and structural change through collective living space, critical spatial practices and spatial improvement initiatives with communities.
We promote discussion and publications that enhance architecture’s social impact through research, education, and collaboration. ASF-ID is currently dedicated to empowering communities with participatory urban planning, climate resilience, and architecture research.
